About Us:
Kalamata Capital Group is an innovative financial technology company that offers funding to small businesses.  We are looking for a motivated Data Analyst to join our dynamic team and contribute to building new web applications.
Responsibilities:

  • Collecting, cleaning, processing, organizing and analyzing large datasets from multiple sources
  • Efficiently organizing, storing, and processing data  using sophisticated data structures and algorithms
  • Working with NoSQL databases to create reporting for the business
  • Building reports (tables, graphs, etc.) to provide insight into our core businesses
  • Cleaning and preparing data for predictive modeling exercise, and supporting those exercises
  • Document data processes and analytical findings clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences 

Requirements:
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong proficiency in Python
  • Strong familiarity with MongoDB
  • Strong familiarity with node.js
  • Experience with structured and unstructured databases
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and an ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field
  • 1+ years of experience as a Data Analyst
  • Experience with data visualization tools preferred
  • Knowledge of AWS somewhat preferred
  • Knowledge of machine learning or statistical modelling somewhat preferred

You will work closely with business stakeholders to ensure high-quality reporting and data integrity:
  • Create ad-hoc and recurring reports to meet evolving business needs
  • Make our data accessible to different stakeholders:
    • Creating databases for the Data team
    • Creating interactive reports for analytically-inclined internal stakeholders
    • Creating static, visually-based reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with developers and business stakeholders to understand requirements and develop new, automated reporting
  • Collaborate with our proprietary customer records management system to ensure that it tracks and stores the data that we need to draw insights
  • Develop a Continuous Data Integrity Tracking program to automatically alert the business to abnormalities or notable trends
